You can now transfer money abroad using our online banking service for just £9.50*.

It's quick** and easy with Bank of Scotland International Payment Services and if you have previously transferred foreign currency abroad from a bank account in our branches or through telephone banking, your current payment details will be saved ready for you to use online. 

International Payments are the most reliable and secure way to transfer money from your bank account to another account in most countries around   the world and we offer a wide range of currencies.

You can send any amount*** overseas and pay just £9.50 using online banking* and its available 24 hours a day***.

For Euro payments to an EU/EEA country**** you'll need to have both the BIC and IBAN details for the recipients bank account.

You can now also request Foreign Drafts online.  A foreign draft is a cheque drawn on a bank abroad and can be useful for sending money abroad by post.  These are available for up to £5,000 in all major currencies and cost between £6.00 - £15.00.  These can only be sent to the online account holders' address.

If you're registered for online banking

Sign in and on your 'My accounts' page select the current account you would like to transfer the money from.  On the next screen select 'International payments' from the left-hand menu and follow the on-screen instructions.

**The transfer is usually in the beneficiary's country within 1-2 bank working days via the correspondent bank; however, credit to the beneficiary's bank is subject to local banking practices and time zone differences. 

*** The service will be temporarily unavailable for half an hour between 04:30 and 05:00.

EU/EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,  Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands,  Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

Additionally, the following countries have also adopted the use of IBAN and it is strongly recommended to quote IBAN and BIC when sending payment to these countries: Andorra, Bosnia, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Macedonia, Monaco, Romania, San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Tunisia, Turkey.
