How to apply for a Bank of Scotland Student Current Account
It only takes a few minutes to open a Bank of Scotland Student Current Account online.
Before you begin you will need to have a confirmed place at university or college. When you apply you need to give us:
- your university's or college's details;
- your term-time address. If you don't have a term-time address you can provide this later once you've sorted out your accommodation;
- your previous address (if you have lived at your current address for less than three years).

Existing Bank of Scotland customers - change your existing current account to a Student Current Account.
As a Bank of Scotland current account customer you can change your account to a Student Current Account and keep the same sort code and account number. Simply call 08457 21 31 41 and speak to a colleague or visit your local branch. This facility is currently not available online.
Calls to 0845 numbers from BT landlines will cost no more than 4p a minute plus a 6p connection fee. The price of calls through other phone companies and from mobile phones will be different. Lines are open between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Saturdays and 9am to 5pm Sundays.
