Important Information
How we’ve calculated the savings of over £800
Certain benefits have not been included in the calculation as it is impossible to quantify their value due to their individual nature.
• The value of the majority of Ultimate Reward Current Account benefits have been calculated from what they would cost if purchased individually from a variety of suppliers. Benefits are either single payments, for the first-year only or ongoing.
• The value of the travel insurance policy is based on an annual family policy (oldest member of party = 40), travelling worldwide including USA with Personal Baggage, Winter Sports and Golf Cover, with Halifax Travel Insurance. Administered by FirstAssist Insurance Services Ltd and underwritten by Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC.
• The value of the RAC Breakdown Cover is based on the fee charged by the RAC for the same cover for one year – see www.rac.co.uk/web/breakdown-cover/uk/ for details.
• The value of the Home Emergency Cover is based on the amount charged to add Home Emergency Cover to a Halifax Home Insurance Policy.
• The value of the mobile phone insurance is based on the annual premium charged by Foneguard – see www.cusc.co.uk for details.
• The value of the Card Care benefit is based on an Annual Card Care policy, provided by St Andrew’s Membership Services Limited acting as agents for the insurer, St Andrew’s Insurance plc.
• The value of the savings account benefit is based on a minimum opening balance of £5,000 held in a Halifax Instant Saver for one year.
• If you open a new Halifax Home Mover or First Time Buyer Mortgage or unsecured personal loan, in addition to your Ultimate Reward Current Account, we will provide you with a one off cash bonus payment. The bonus payment is not available on mortgages bought through an intermediary.
• The value of the interest-free overdraft is based on being charged the arranged overdraft rate of 13.35% EAR on a constant overdrawn balance of £300 for a year.
• The value of the 10% discount on car insurance is based on the average Halifax Car Insurance premium from October to December 2006.
• The value of the Home Insurance is based upon an average annual premium of £319.00
• The value of the Discount Card is based on use of the card with the BT Total Broadband offer (£50 welcome cheque is awarded if BT Total Broadband Option 3 is taken); the npower offer (£80 credit if the customer switches to npower for dual fuel before 31st December 2008 and pays by monthly Direct Debit and remains with npower for a minimum of 12 months); Airport Lounge offer (value of £34, based on the standard cost of 2 adults using the lounge at Edinburgh airport). Other offers and discount are available, but it is not possible to quantify their value.
