Switching to the Bank of Scotland couldn't be easier - our dedicated Switching Team will do it all for you.
All you have to do is... | What we do |
Complete and sign 2 forms | 1. Contact your bank for a list of all Direct Debits and standing orders - which is then sent to you to check. We'll also give you an interest* and charge free overdraft for 120 days to cover your outgoings while we switch your account. |
| 2. Switch your Direct Debits, standing orders and automated credits (like your salary) to your new account. | |
| 3. Once the switch is complete, we'll send you a letter confirming what we've switched. You can keep track of your switch at www.bankofscotland.co.uk/online or call 08457 21 31 41**. |
Please note:
- We rely on the co-operation of the third party organisations you have your Direct Debits with to amend their records accordingly.
- We rely on the third party organisations you have your Direct Debits with and your previous bank/building society to be prompt. If they do not respond quickly, this could delay the switching process.
It is the responsibility of your employer or pension provider to amend their records and pay your salary or pension into your new Bank of Scotland account.
*0% for 120 days then typical rate 19.5% EAR (variable) - (If you fund your current account with £1,000 every month lower rates will apply).Overdrafts subject to status and credit approval.

If you have already opened your current account with us and want to switch to a different Bank of Scotland current account, simply print and complete the switching forms and post them to Bank of Scotland, PO Box 23581, Edinburgh EH1 1WZ. Or just ask for the switching forms in branch or over the telephone, call 08458 50 37 04.
