Protect yourself when travelling

Remember, when you travel abroad that different places take different types of payment.  So it's a good idea to take some currency, travellers cheques and your debit or credit card.  For security you should always carry them separately.

Order your travel money a way that suits you;

• New travel money ordering service  - order with any debit or credit card
• By phone - order using any debit or credit card by calling 0845 246 0006
• Visit your local branch - Any suitable Bank of Scotland account
• Bank of Scotland online banking - Any suitable Bank of Scotland account

We can get your money to you the next working day when you order using our New travel money ordering service

 There is a minimum order amount of £300 and a maximum order amount of £2,500 in a 90 day period. (£1,500 for customers paying using a Bank of Scotland or Halifax debit card.) The total sum payment by you will be shown in your order summary. Terms and conditions apply.  There are no card handling fees charged if you choose to pay by Debit Card or Visa Credit Card. If you wish to pay by Mastercard Travelex will levy a card handling fee of 1.5% of the order value (min £4 –max £15). This will be shown within your order summary. If you chose to pay by either Mastercard, Visa Credit Card or Visa Debit Card, your issuer may apply a cash advance fee which will be shown separately on your Credit Card/Bank statement. If customers prefer sterling traveller’s cheques we charge just 1% (min £3).

Order by phone, in branch or through Bank of Scotland online

All home deliveries are by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Where orders are placed in branch or over the phone for the home delivery service there will be a £5 charge. Home delivery is not available for orders placed online through the Bank of Scotland online service.

*Working day means Monday to Friday excluding bank and public holidays (and for the avoidance of doubt there are no deliveries on a Sunday or public holidays.)

**Where Monday is a bank holiday your order will be delivered on the next working day.

Your order will be sent by Royal Mail special delivery and is subject to Royal Mail's special delivery conditions (a copy of which are available from Royal mail upon request).  Different timescales may apply to Scotland and Northern Ireland.  We may not be able to guarantee deliveries or collections from certain remote areas within the United Kingdom.
