This product is right for you if:

  • You want to save tax free and earn a fixed rate of interest
  • You don't need to make any additional deposits or withdrawals
  • You can save a minimum of £500 up to a maximum of £3,600 (£5,100 for those aged 50 or above on or before 5 April 2010)

How to fund your account (Opening Credit) 

You can fund your account in a way that’s convenient for you:

  • Over the counter at any Bank of Scotland or Halifax branch.
  • By standing order or a money transfer from another financial institution. You will need to quote your new account details. Please Note - External bank payments are only accepted via BACS, if a payment is sent via Faster Payments this will be sent back to the sending financial institution.
  • By posting us a cheque to the following address:

Please make your cheque payable to the account holders name and include your new account details on the reverse.

Please note interest rates are fixed on the day we receive your opening deposit.Please check with your branch or on the Bank of Scotland website for the current rates.

Before you begin - make sure you have the following details to hand:

  • Your Halifax Current Account details (applicable if you are an existing customer only)
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Previous address details if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years
