Payment protection
All our personal loans can be insured with Creditcare, our optional payment protection insurance. This could provide you with the reassurance that your repayments may be taken care of should your circumstances change.
Creditcare could cover your monthly loan repayments for:
- Up to 12 monthly repayments in the event of involuntary unemployment†
- Up to 60 monthly repayments in the event of accident and sickness†
- The balance of the loan repaid (up to £50,000) in the event of death, permanent total disablement, if you become a carer or if you suffer a named critical illness.
We offer three different levels of cover to suit your individual needs:

How do I pay for Creditcare and how much does it cost? The Creditcare premium is collecteed as part of your monthly loan repayments. The premium amount will depend on the amount borrowed and the term of the loan. Full details will be provided on your documentation.
Who arranges Creditcare? You can apply for Creditcare by telephone when your loan details are being finalised. The suitability of Creditcare will also be assessed at this time. Your application is subject to underwriting by Halifax Insurance Ireland Limited and Halifax Assurance Ireland Limited, and if accepted a policy schedule and booklet will be forwarded to you. Creditcare is underwritten by Bank of Scotland plc acting as an intermediary and underwritten by Halifax Insurance Ireland Limited, incorporated in the Republic of Ireland No. 323923 and Halifax Assurance Ireland Limited, incorporated in the Republic of Ireland No. 323922.
